TrueHear

TrueHear is an innovative platform designed to address the need for more holistic and real-world hearing assessments amidst limited healthcare resources. Built on over 25 years of clinical experience and research, it empowers individuals to self-administer hearing tests in realistic sound environments, such as speech-in-noise scenarios.

TrueHear combines a self-service station with a digital platform, providing accurate, personalized insights into hearing performance with and without hearing aids/assistive devices. This groundbreaking solution combines advanced diagnostics with accessibility, paving the way for more effective, evidence-based, cost-efficient hearing healthcare.

The need for timely
hearing rehabilitation

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), hearing loss is a widespread issue that demands urgent attention:

Current Estimates: Over 1.5 billion people worldwide live with some degree of hearing loss.

Future Projections: By the year 2050, nearly 2.5 billion people - approximately 1 in 4 individuals—could be living with hearing loss. Of these, at least 700 million will likely require access to hearing rehabilitation services.

Healthcare bottleneck

Limited access to professional testing and affordable devices hinders widespread hearing care.

One of the biggest challenges in addressing hearing loss effectively is the difficulty in obtaining timely, accurate hearing assessments. In many regions, a shortage of trained audiologists and limited access to specialized diagnostic equipment slows down the path to proper care. On top of that, the cost and availability of quality hearing aids can pose significant barriers. Even when devices are technologically advanced, affordability and distribution remain critical issues, preventing many individuals—especially in underserved or remote communities—from accessing the treatment they need.

These bottlenecks collectively hamper early diagnosis and intervention. Breaking through them involves not only expanding infrastructure for hearing tests and professional training but also developing more affordable, user-friendly devices. Reducing these barriers ensures that help reaches those who need it most, improving overall outcomes and making hearing rehabilitation truly accessible to all.
